About Course
Evolution of development studies; common characteristics and diverse structure of third-world countries; meanings and measures of development; the role of agriculture in economic development; theories of development; objectives of rural development; major agricultural/rural development strategies; common and diverse characteristics of developing countries, globalization and third-world countries, rural development and agriculture, and Ethiopian rural development performance. Some other related thematic issues, like the Millennium Development Goal (MDG), the Poverty Reduction strategy, and a few other current development issues, are going to be discussed and presented by students.
